Together with other local and international organizations located at the customs point in the village of Palanca, the representatives of the “Border Assistance” Department participate directly in the effort to manage the flow of refugees at the Palanca border crossing point. The department provides continuous informational support to refugees and identifying solutions for different situations (refugee discrimination, refugee accommodation, transport, specialized legal, medical, psychological assistance, etc.).

The department also monitors and analyzes situations of risk, discrimination and abuse and reports them to the competent bodies: the Office of the People’s Advocate, the Single Center for Crisis Management, the Center for Combating Human Trafficking, etc.

The department consists of 4 employees who are organized in shifts to ensure constant presence at Palanca, but also to carry out monitoring visits to the other MD-UA border crossing points.
