The “Accommodation unit” assists refugees in finding accommodation by connecting refugee requests with accommodation offers from Moldovan families, through dopomoha.md.

Also, when there are specific requests, for example, health problems or reduced mobility, the team assists in finding the right center.

The activity is largely focused in the capital, but we also cover other districts of the country.

The team also participates in the process of creating the medium and long-term strategy within the working group with international and local organizations initiated by UNHCR. The aim is to identify safe, individual and adequate housing solutions for refugees in the medium and long term.

Since the beginning of the initiative, over 20 volunteers have been part of the “Accommodation unit”, at different times of the initiative, initially working in night shifts. Currently, the unit consists of a coordinator and two full-time employees to respond to accommodation requests.

So far, more than 4,000 refugees have been assisted.
